Hi, I’m George, a conservation geneticist and quantitative ecologist currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Christen Fleming’s group at the University of Central Florida. Broadly, I am interested in integrating ecological, spatial, and genomic data in applied research that informs wildlife management and conservation. My research examines how climate and anthropogenic change affect wildlife populations, including shifts in habitat and distribution, landscape connectivity, movement and habitat selection, and the role of adaptive genetic variation in enabling populations to respond to changing environmental conditions.

Much of my research has focused on large mammals, particularly deer and pumas, though I have addressed similar questions in other taxa. I use population and landscape genomics, geospatial analyses, movement ecology, and ecological modeling, and develop laboratory and computational workflows to address these questions. By combining these approaches, I aim to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the complex interactions among species, the environment, and anthropogenic factors to better inform future management strategies. My goal is to contribute to the field of wildlife conservation and promote stewardship between humans and the natural world.
